Lifted Golf Carts: What to Know Before You Lift
A lift is the most dramatic single change you can make to a cart, and it affects more than appearance.
What changes
- Ground clearance improves for trails and ruts
- Larger tires smooth out bumps but add steering weight
- Center of gravity rises — cornering and slopes feel different
- Speedometer and braking calibration may need attention
Kit quality
Block lifts and spindle lifts are not equivalent. Suspension kits that correct steering geometry preserve handling; cheap lifts that do not produce wandering steering and uneven tire wear.
Road rules
Some jurisdictions restrict lifted vehicles from certain roads or require specific lighting. Verify local requirements before ordering.
