Hunting Golf Carts: What Makes One Work in the Field
A hunting cart has to do three things well: move quietly, carry gear without rattling, and get back out over ground that a street cart would get stuck on.
What matters in the field
- Electric drive for silence on the approach
- Lifted suspension and appropriate tread for the terrain
- Cargo capacity for blinds, decoys and game
- Lighting that can be switched off completely when needed
Load and balance
Weight carried over the drive wheels helps traction; weight hanging off the rear does the opposite. Keep loads forward of the rear axle and tie them down so nothing shifts mid-climb.
Rules to check first
Hunting with a vehicle is regulated differently by state and by land type, and some areas prohibit motorised access entirely. Confirm local rules before you load the trailer.
