What to Look For When Shopping Golf Carts for Sale

Listings all look similar in photographs. The differences show up in the things a photo will not tell you: how the batteries behave under load, how the steering feels and what the frame looks like underneath.

The five-minute physical check

  • Frame and floor pan: surface rust is normal, holes are not
  • Tires: even wear across the tread
  • Steering: minimal play at the wheel, straight tracking
  • Brakes: firm pedal, no grinding, no pull to one side

Battery questions that matter

Age of the pack, whether it has been watered, and whether the charger is the one that came with it. Ask for a load test result — a seller who has one is a seller who has nothing to hide.

Paperwork

Serial number, year, any existing registration, and a written description of what is included. Get the condition notes in the listing confirmed in writing before you pay.
