New vs Used Golf Carts: Which Should You Buy?
The honest answer depends on two things: how many years you plan to keep the cart, and whether the batteries have been looked after. Everything else follows from those.
What new gets you
- Full factory warranty across frame, motor and electronics
- Fresh batteries with their full cycle life ahead
- Current lighting, charging and controller technology
What used gets you
A lower entry price and a depreciated asset — provided the pack has been load-tested and the cart has service history. The battery is the expensive part, so a cart with weak pack economics can cost more than it saved you.
The deciding question
Ask what the batteries would cost to replace today. If the used price plus a new pack still beats new, buy used. If it does not, the maths has answered you.
