Three Tips for Building a Great Farm Golf Cart

Farm carts get used harder and longer than any other configuration. Three changes do most of the conversion from neighborhood runabout to working vehicle.

The three changes

  • Traction: tires matched to mud, gravel or wet grass, and weight over the drive wheels
  • Cargo: a rack, basket or flatbed rated for what you actually carry
  • Protection: windscreen, enclosure or canopy for weather that does not wait

Electrical reliability

Farm carts sit idle for days, then work all day. Keep the pack charged between jobs, keep terminals clean, and carry a tyre pump — a low-pressure tire is what tears up turf and burns range.

Maintenance cadence

Weekly tire check, monthly battery check, and a wash after wet work. Mud holds moisture against the frame, and rust starts where the mud dries.
