How to Maintain and Extend the Life of Your Golf Cart
A golf cart is mechanically simple, which means maintenance is mostly about a short list of things done consistently rather than anything expensive.
The list, in order
- Batteries: water, clean terminals, full charges, regular load tests
- Tires: correct pressure, even wear, no dry rot
- Brakes: adjustment and pad thickness checked yearly
- Steering and suspension: check for play and worn bushings
- Body and roof: wash, dry and protect from UV
Charging discipline
Charge after use, charge fully, and use the correct charger. Three habits, most of the pack life.
Records
Note the date of the last battery test, brake check and tire replacement somewhere you will find it. Carts with records sell faster and for more, and you will know when the next service is due without guessing.
